MAPFRE has entered the Top 10 of asset management firms in Spain, with assets under management totaling 9.9 billion euros, according to the barometer prepared by FundsPeople monthly. When management of the group's financial investments is taken into account, the total exceeds 30 billion.

Mutual funds experienced the best growth so far this year, standing at 3.15 billion euros, up 12% on last year’s close. MAPFRE AM has a wide range of funds in place to adapt as much as possible to different risk profiles: from equity vehicles with ESG characteristics, such as MAPFRE AM Inclusión Responsable, to the latest guaranteed fund launches, such as FONDMAPFRE Garantía II.

“We’re growing a lot in mutual funds thanks to distribution agreements with other financial institutions,” explains Álvaro Anguita, CEO of MAPFRE AM. "In pension funds, we’re also seeing significant positive net subscriptions. These are quite good results, taking into account the current economic context."

MAPFRE AM also stands out in terms of profitability, with an average return at the end of October of 3.52 percent, as highlighted by the financial newspaper Expansión based on data from Vdos. The Group's vehicles are therefore among the most profitable among those of the largest asset managers.

High stock market valuations and the concentration of gains, especially in the technology sector, dominate much of the analysis, although MAPFRE's experts point to another crucial factor: central bank policy. With the Fed facing another rate cut and a likely change in its chairmanship, and a European Central Bank that could take the opposite path if economic growth exceeds expectations, monetary policy could be decisive in the currency, bond, and equity markets.
