Investor protection and technological changes, among other factors, have forced managers and advisory firms to adapt to various regulatory changes. Although they are always seen as a burden, Miguel Ángel Segura, general manager of MAPFRE Inversión, insists that they can also be an opportunity to do things better.

MAPFRE shares increased in value by more than 7% in 2023, enabling the insurance group to close the year with a market capitalization of almost €6 billion. Despite last year’s improvement, this figure is still far from its book value, which is more than €2 billion higher.

MAPFRE's commitment to its shareholders and to the dividend is unquestionable. Felipe Navarro, Director of Capital Markets and Treasury, explains in an interview with Estrategias de Inversión that "we have sufficient profits and capital to continue distributing dividends".

The summer has come to an end and the "paradise" that was the markets during the summer months has moved on to more troubled waters. Now, "wait and see" seems to be the most sensible position at this time, according to the monthly report prepared by MAPFRE Gestión Patrimonial.
