MAPFRE and Abante, leaders in the investment business

MAPFRE and its partner Abante, of which it owns 20%, take the top ranked spots in both securities broker and dealer businesses in the first quarter of this year.

Securities brokers and dealers brought in 116.76 million euros in commissions earned during the first quarter of the year, according to Spanish National Securities and Exchange Commission data compiled by the journal El Asesor Financiero. For securities brokers, MAPFRE Inversión was the company with the most commissions earned through March, with 13.10 million euros; Abante Asesores was number one for securities dealers (5.31 million).

As José Luis Jiménez, the MAPFRE Group Chief Investment Officer, explains, “These numbers illustrate the success of the deal we reached almost three years ago.” “At MAPFRE, we team up with leaders in each of the industries we work in, and Abante is a perfect example.”
